Fries—the perfect side for any sandwich, burger, or wrap—are the epitome of casual eating. Salt, pepper, ketchup, and melted cheese go well with them.
If you think you've seen all about this pervasive side, you're wrong. The new KFC fries are amazing.
Funnel Cake Fries will be available in 77 KFC restaurants in Kansas City, Omaha, St. Louis, Northwestern Arkansas, and Southeastern Oklahoma starting this week.
These "fries" are crispy on the exterior, soft and fluffy on the inside, and topped with powdered sugar.
These snackable dessert sticks are portable, unlike traditional funnel cakes, which may be messy.
KBP claims the sweet side went viral after its autumn Kansas City soft launch, prompting this expansion. If successful in the Midwest, Funnel Cake Fries may expand in 2023.
KBP encourages consumers to match Funnel Cake Fries with chicken tenders or a KFC Chicken Sandwich, even though funnel cakes are normally desserts.
"As the largest KFC franchisee, KBP Brands takes a lot of satisfaction in supporting test programmes to enhance the customer experience," said vice president of marketing activation.
"The sweetness of Funnel Cake Fries with our savoury world-famous fried chicken fuels our customers' ever-increasing appetite in fresh, craveable and fulfilling menu choices."
Small ($1.99), Large ($2.99), and Family ($5.99) Funnel Cake Fries are offered. Starting this week, KBP KFC stores will offer the Fries for a limited period.
